INTRODUCTION

These sets of activities aim to address the HSC Physics syllabus learning outcome of:
9.2.4.  Current and emerging understanding about time and space has been dependent upon earlier models of the transmission of light

Students are encouraged to work through the activities outlined in each section and should be expecting to submit completed tasks during class.
This learning outcome has been divided into four sections, namely:
  1. Michelson, Morley and the Aether
  2. Frames of reference 
  3. Einstein and relativity
  4. Consequences of special relativity
Students may begin at any point that they wish; however, the order presented corresponds to that of the syllabus.
